What's Going On... https:newwhatsgoingon.blogpost.com
DAY 9
IN APRIL
what s going on
what s going on
poem a day
sometimes two
falling out of her ears
autumn's here
finally arrived
all bad news
on the global front
thanks to satan
dressed up as trump
what can we do
put on our dancing shoes
dance away the blues
falling out of her ears
autumn's here
finally arrived
all bad news
on the global front
thanks to satan
dressed up as trump
what can we do
put on our dancing shoes
dance away the blues
DAY 10
Moonwashed Musings....Weekly Prompt
never fails to ignite
our gasps of awe
our gasps of awe
DAY 11.....The SPIDER and the FLY by Mary Howitt
FRIDAY WRITINGS # 172..Poets and Storytellers United
there are some
who cannot resist
who are bedazzled
by charm
by compliments
end up on a plate
as someone's dinner
they are warned
they even know
who are bedazzled
by charm
by compliments
end up on a plate
as someone's dinner
they are warned
they even know
of the likelihood
the possibility
the inevitablity
of doom
the possibility
the inevitablity
of doom
but are still lured into that parlour
WHY?
WHY?
DAY 12
Tanka Tuesday Challenge # no. 7
Double Ennead 6 5 11 6 5....3 stanzas
a strip of colour can save
a miserable sky
a miserable sky
foreboding murky grey and uninviting
a magical rainbow
transforming the scene
a magical rainbow
transforming the scene
a tree stripped of its leaves
not much of a home
for poor little birds who are probably cold
in the bleak harsh weather
rainbows are relief
spring will be here soon
not so long to go
they will hang in there and dream of the sunshine
warming icy feathers
not much of a home
for poor little birds who are probably cold
in the bleak harsh weather
rainbows are relief
spring will be here soon
not so long to go
they will hang in there and dream of the sunshine
warming icy feathers
eating juicy worms

FOR COLLEEN AND MELISSA
colleen and melissa
ride a bee to work
you're riding it too fast said colleen slow down
it's the quick or the dead
said melissa loudly
it's the quick or the dead
said melissa loudly
don't trust a busy bee
they are dangerous
get one in your bonnet and you'll be sorry
a friend of mine did once
came to a sad end
they got to work ok
had honey on toast
both decided to ride the dragonfly home
give the bee a miss-this
time colleen's riding
they got to work ok
had honey on toast
both decided to ride the dragonfly home
give the bee a miss-this
time colleen's riding

What a dance! April is tough and wonderful. Congrats on two poems: One with Satan and one with the supreme artist! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love how this ends - gives me hope! Jae
ReplyDeleteAlways it is nature that lifts my heart. Beautiful, Rall.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, let's dance! All that we can do right now. I like the bit about satan!
ReplyDelete"the supreme artist
ReplyDeletenever fails to ignite
our gasps of awe"....Most beautiful lines.
One reason is that the buggers are so clever! And they prey on human emotion. I am usually very aware and wary, but did get caught once, when I was bit desperate to get my printer working (long story) and gave computer access to fake fixers. Luckily, as an Age Pensioner, I don't have thousands in the bank to lose. They got $200 only. I also woke up immediately after the event, and took all necessary steps to prevent further damage. But still, if even I can get caught ...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Rosemary. It is very scary out there.
DeleteI love this! Beautiful poetry and superb take on all prompts. Your Colleen and Melissa poem is delightful. - Eugi
ReplyDeleteWow! A full bag of goodies, Rall. Love the poems ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous (loved eldritch!). Thank you for these delectable morsels. (Nick)
ReplyDeleteSo true how "a strip of colour can save a miserable sky" the way a smile can do. :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic poems, Rall! I enjoyed all of them.
