Napowrimo poem day 14
Prompt: Cleave Poem
And did those feet in Ancient time
She walked in beauty
But what shall we do with the drunken sailor ?
Walk upon England's mountain green
like the night
What shall we do with the drunken sailor ?
And was the holy lamb of God
of cloudless climes and starry skies
What shall we do with the drunken sailor ?
On England's pleasant pastures seen
and all that 's best of dark and bright
Ear-ly in the morning
I can't do that... clever Cleaver thing...
ReplyDeleteAnd it's Songkhran so this drunken sailor/soldier/tinker/tailor is not too worried about morning...
Wow! Very cleverly done!
ReplyDeleteCourse you can Stan. After a few beers under the belt for Songkhran you'll be cleavering
ReplyDeleteyourself til the cows come home.
So, is this cheating?! Just jealous cos I didn't think of it!
ReplyDeleteWe are not playing cards here Derrick!
ReplyDeleteLooks to me that you have 4 poems here, or am I seeing double? Great work!
ReplyDeleteNo F Prints I made a mistake did 4 instead of 3
ReplyDeleteOh my de-ah! This is so very clever!!!
ReplyDeleteBut the "mistake" worked well. I've done something like this, a triptych (which is four poems in one, working on the same premise as the cleave). You weaved together these three very well.
ReplyDelete-Nicole
Thanks to everyone (except Derrick:)
ReplyDeleteRall,
ReplyDeleteYou are sooo very clever my dear!
Pamela
I'm all green around the gills from jealousy - or is that indigestion? This is very cleverly done. Wish I had thought of it.
