G and T and Me

Napowrimo poem Day 13
Prompt : Norman Dubie first line

'The lights of the galaxy
are strung out over
a dipper of gin '
The sprinkling of stars
in the firmament fizz
tonic water over ice
The green sampans
are wedges of lime
on a sea of floating bergs
Gordon has been my
seasonal love forever
Mother's ruin? Maybe
but a summer without him
would be
a bath without bubbles
a king without I
a g without t

  8. Loved your rendition of Dubie. "...sprinkling of stars in a firmament of fizz" ...Love it. It's obvious I'm taking all of this too seriously - and also - I don't know what in the heck your other commenters are talking about. Oh me, am I out of it -

  10. Bottoms up Ral, don't drink, but if I still did, I'd be havin' the Glenlivet 18-year-old single malt -- so here's to you, and damned well written... ...keep the NaPoWriMo 2010 energy flowin’...

  15. I do like a good G&T, with lots of ice and lime!

Loved "The sprinkling of stars in the firmament fizz tonic water over ice The green sampans
are wedges of lime on a sea of floating bergs
Gordon has been my seasonal love forever." And Gordon, of course!
