Dire Straits

my muses are a treat
they love me and leave me
two have left and the third
is in high wire training

walking on a red line
for thousands of miles is
not for the faint hearted

i see him dangling
from a bright red wire
over outer Mongolia
his taut body outlined
against the green countries

he is not skilled enough
to make it all the way back
he cannot dangle there forever
he will need to sprout wings
become an angel

  1. Love is never far away. It is everywhere in everytime.

Remember to look after the bird you have in the bush; and always eat from your best china plate.

  2. I actually wrote for this to lure my former muse Derrick back to the bloggoing world, He has been gone for over a year and is probably languishing stylishly somewhere in a renovated Benedictine Monastery somewhere in Melrose.

He was the best dinosaur catcher on the Plains the area has ever known. A real loss to the community.

  5. Muses do not wear shoes, avoid high wire and are can fly when need arises. It's rude when they do not say "au revoir" but then they have no conception of time.

Dinosaurs are not always what they seem and, where possible, not be thrown into the back of vans. One, a gentle Tyrant Lizard, taught me about swans and how to sing: "Da-da-di-di da; Da-da-di-di da".

  8. Every bird has a song which s/he sings exceptionally well. I discovered mine a time ago, then neglected it until I heard the faint call of the blue bird.

"Dishy Dude"? - are you feeling hungry? Make a call to a local take away.

And remember, Dodo's are unusual. Some say they can change shape and travel in time when necessary.
