roofie does not know housework
it is not something that features
in the exotic life of an eccentric artist
preoccupied with creativity and beauty
she does like entertaining
in her 'Topple Downs' sur mer
an untouched relic from the past
carving a way through canvases
paint pots champagne bottles sculptures
a grand piano crushed under Tenzig and Tambar
2 giant bengal green eyed cats
paint splotched antiques silver urns
fauteuils peeping from nonchalantly dispersed clutter
books here cushions there paintings everywhere
a still life masterpeice
guests (needing a map) finally locate the table
in the garden of eden tropical jungle
are served pink rose petal cream
cumquats in liqueur with streaks of raspberry
not paint ( I hope) with bubbly in fluted glass
the descent from initial prim to riotous giggles
happening in moments...a day worth remembering
Ha! Roofie seems to have a nice time. K.

ReplyDelete"2 giant bengal green eyed cats" ... I want some of those! Maybe when I'm an old cat lady.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, now that is a snack: "pink rose petal cream cumquats in liqueur with streaks of raspberry" ... What I wouldn't give to have that for breakfast!
Delightful. The perfect way to spend all days. I hope she does invite you back!

ReplyDeleteGreat job. Love how the listing is done so poetically, 3rd stanza is outstanding. Great read. Thanks
ReplyDeleteMy kinda day....sounds fantastic. Eyeing the art, becoming oh so bubbly and talking a blue streak about a story I read just the other day, written by, of all people, the boy that lives in the blue house on the corner. Loved this.
ReplyDeleteI know that guy...he has everything blue!
ReplyDeleteHopefully this isn't every day... :)
