LEAP IN LOGIC

A Suitable Case for Treatment

she said he was mad for her
i said has he asked you out
she said he was too shy
why don't you ask him
i have he just laughed
he is not free anyway
do you have an expectation
that he will love you from afar
yes she said
isn't he having an affair
with the PR girl
yes but he really loves me
how do you know
the way he looks at me

  2. Nice poem, the affair isn't helping the love, it only hurts it unfortunately.

  4. Of course you know when it is really happening. Unfortunately, fantasy can get in the way here. I am happy with this poem.

  11. Thank you all for your comments. This is actually true. I knew a successful professional who managed to delude herself to this extent. There is a name for this psychological condition but it eludes me at the moment.

  12. Nowadays this condition is commonly known as "erotomania" or "de Clerambault's syndrome". It has an interesting history.

  13. A series of poems on syndromes coming up. Stendahl next.
