I want to paint my van like this one

butter bush

tibouchina
it's the time of yellow butter bush
purple tibouchina and cool breeze
Easter - the season of garish tease
freezing cold then baking hot flush
the paddocks lovely look quite lush
scribblies stand motionless like freeze
vegie beds untended grow wild sweet peas
the rain has ruined the sorghum to mush
we drive along the winding back roads
transported by our hard won freedom
our clapped out van packed to the gunnels
it is in the moment of this memorable mode
filled with joy in our breathtaking blissdom
my heart runneth over at the top of its funnel
love the way this begins..butter bush..the middle with the sweet peas..then the 'lush paddocks' and 'blissdon' ;)and how you tie it all together in the sonnet form;) Happy Easter.

DeleteI can picture all of this, driving down the winding roads, and all around the countryside flush with spring. A wonderful sonnet, and perfect for this weekend.
ReplyDeletesmiling at the heart running over in the end...this is the bipolar season, not knowing which way to turn the weather...back to freezing here....i love driving back roads....take them to and from work everyday by the mountains...and i watch the seasons change...nice use of the form...

Thank you Brudberg...singing sonnet is a lovely compliment!
DeleteI love this--such beautiful scenery, like I'm driving along the back roads with you. You know my favorite line?
