Sunday Scribblings

My Great Aunt's Chair

in our family
there has always
been a resistance
to the bland

colourful
muti textural
chaotic
volatile are words
that come to hand

even great  aunt's chair
is a testament
to the wild

no pastels
for this grande dame
she thinks them
too mild

conservative
charming and sweet
is she
if you told her
she was 'cool'

she'd laugh
think you
out of your tree

  1. I am with your great aunt. Clearly no wallflower she is here to make a statement about who she is. Why live your life meekly when you can sit on leopards.

  5. Sounds like a fine old gal; may God welcome her and give her a corner in Paradise where she can do her stuff.

  7. 'Think you out of your tree', I love that expression, and the line. I like the picture you create of her, definitely cool. Whether she'd like it or no. The paradise of colour somehow comes across in your words. You really do create very vivid pictures in my mind. Another enjoyable read, thanks!
