they don't own books
they are not impressed
by anything other than a good bloke
the swearing in aussie drawl would melt
a curling iron and change hair colouring
they call a spade a spade
love their blue cattle dogs
and red kelpies
snorkers beers and rollies
by the camp fire under the stars
is their version of heaven
cattle lowing in the distance
their ripper jokes have you rolling
on the floor clutching your sides
they are rough and rugged
but anyone finding themselves stranded
would get a helping hand
even if they are not wearing a short skirt
with fish net stockings
Damn! There goes my wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteI hear you cut a dashing figure in a hiroshima grey suit:)
Deleteit just might not be as fast as it is for those in a short skirt & stockings...just saying....gotta love someone willing to call a spade a spade....
ReplyDeleteYou know you could be right Brian:)
DeleteTrue blue!
ReplyDeleteWonder if I would get any help in fishnet stockings.... I guess there are limits also for Australian Cowboys.
ReplyDeleteBlonde Swedish female in fishnets ...vip treatment!
DeleteBlonde Swedish male in fishnets...not a great idea!
What are you trying to tell us Bjorn?:)
Love this! Nothing like a clear, if rough spoken, Aussie cowboy. And yes they love their dogs, horses and cattle. Great write...nice close too! ;-) Thanks for joining in on the Cowboy Poetry prompt.
ReplyDeleteThat's the truth all right...you never sit for long on the side of the road in the bush always someone there to help...unlike the cities. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAussie Cowboys sound like my kinda guys. Great write!
