DVERSE OLN
you died
passive pose
a needle
in your arm
in tears of grief
a great talent
we wont see again
lost to us
dear Lord we leave thee
the pain
accelerated
drove you
to blanket the flames
hearts cry to thee
with white poppy powder
a rogue fuel -lethal potential
igniting a raging inferno
O Saviour dear
Rest thou softly - softly here
no way to die
no way to live
may you now
rest at last
rest in peace
Rest thou softly -softly here
Indeed a senseless death of a talented man.

ReplyDeleteNo way to live..i remember hearing that myself and thought it strange as the former was what i was stating..it is sad when it goes past the point of being able to change ..or even see it any more..yes..he was a fine actor..shame that he will be remembered by the way he died..

Hoffman's death is so sad and such a waste of talent and life. Thanks for this tribute.

PSH was so good at playing the bad guys. I loved how he played his part in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" when he sussed Ripley out so quickly. He will be sorely missed.

It so very sad to hear of his passing...gosh he was a wonderful actor and one of my favourites... so many great roles one of my favourites was Charlie Wilson's War...he was so good in that one esp the scene where he broke the window...he was so good. I'll miss him. Such a wonderful tribute you've written here.

ReplyDeleteRallentanda, heartbreaking story. Talent and fame are not easy to carry, you did an excellent write here weaving spirituality with the story.
