mid week motif
he always knew
he was meant for something else
sometimes he missed the garden
viewing the bottom of the world
from fine wine in a gazebo
never quite got the hang
of riding camels
or the 4am call to prayer
his thirst for adventure
overrides all
an explorer of life
the giggles and Ooooos
from a southern surf
will sustain him in the
sand dunes of his new life
I love his being sustained by the sand dunes of his new life!
ReplyDeleteThis is nice, I like your closing words, "in the sand dunes of his new life.'
ReplyDeleteFunny how the character of life in the dunes changes when they're on a seashore ...
ReplyDeleteintrepid, indeed.
Loved the way you have interpreted the image. Nice!
ReplyDeleteNo-one, but no-one, gets the hang of riding camels. You craft an interesting picture. I get crossed images of Biggles meets Lawrence of Arabia.
ReplyDeletethe deep longing is very touching....
ReplyDeleteLife in the dunes and at the sea-shore juxtaposed in opposites and contrasts but seemingly acceptable!! Nicely Rallentanda!
ReplyDeleteHank
Maybe we have to pick our own paths to explore..
ReplyDeleteLove it so much! So many layers and meanings around the character....~ Love the spirit of Intrepid Explorer, uplifting!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like our friend Lawrence, who crashed his motorcycle rather than falling off his camel. A queer chap by all accounts!
ReplyDeleteWhat?!
DeleteLOL... oldegg is referring to Lawrence of Arabia not Doug of Dimboola soon to become Barry Bedouin of the Desert.
