poets united: 3ww
when faced with the choice
watching the tour de france
or
watching
a floating plastic bag wafting in the breeze
to the beatles sound track of a depressingly good
but reality spiked movie
about the misery soaked suburban lie
i chose to write
until i saw the given words
profane quarrelsome liberal
decided
to place them
in the cabinet marked
toxic waste
take a hot bubble bath
sprinkle myself with
talc violet thoughts
and
wait for spring
I think you chose very well! smiles....
ReplyDeleteWell, when you put it that way ...! A worthy poem. Thanks for playing!

ReplyDeleteI guess some of us really are crazy - I spent my youth drafting off logging trucks on the coastal mountains of California knowing that the chains holding the logs could slip. My pace is a bit more sedate now that I am old (a bit).
I might have done the movie and the writing at the same time.
ReplyDelete"American Beauty " is a good movie but not one to watch on a lovely sunny day!
