For The Weekend

 dverse

Pardelle

A pardelle is a complicated form created by Billy Collins as a parody on form.

not a one note samba
not a one note samba
breathy raspy and sour
breathy raspy and sour
not one raspy note
a breathy and sour samba

it will take a while
it will take a while
piaf would laugh
piaf would laugh
it would laugh
piaf will take a while

patience with discipline
patience with discipline
no i regret nothing
no i regret nothing
i no nothing with regret
patience discipline

i will laugh a while
with  a raspy discipline
it would take no patience
piaf regrets nothing
not one breathy take
and sour note samba

  2. Edith Piaf's best known song is... Non je ne regrette rien. No,I don't regret anything.Learning a wind instrument takes patience and discipline. If you watch the clip you will see how you only have to master a few notes to be part of a wind band.

  4. Patience with discipline can accomplish a lot of good things. And regretting nothing is surely a peaceful place to be.

  5. A great clip taken from a very good film and I like the way your poem illustrates it. I think it is too late for me to have this kind of patience.

  10. This was a lovely use of this form. You have done so very well. I loved the reference to the sour note, I've played a few of them too.
