Morris Dancers

some blokes meet up
for a beer and a chat
these chaps do it differently
one could say that

stranger than  fiction
perhaps
yes
perhaps

a morris dancer's hat
is rather genteel
somehow or other
these poms look surreal

with their flowers and posies
straw hats  and big feet
yet overall really
they all seem quite sweet

  6. "these chaps do it differently"...they do indeed...the dance with brandishing sticks reminds me of our own Garba dance of Gujarat...folk dances everywhere have the same spirit of joy...

  7. Gosh - this brings back some memories...it used to be like some secret legion - by invitation only could you inherit the hankies and to be the hobby - well you ruled the town! Girls of course not allowed just a watered down tippy tappy lesson or two in junior school..thanks for this blast from the past
