For The Weekend

Saana Rizvi Prompt Nights

“For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith, But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting.” – T.S. Eliot

Shadorma

it's too late
to get back those years
they have gone
life  plays jokes
the greek gods are lol
teasing deities

i hear you
your song reaches me
from the sea
the wind roars
your presence stays deep in me
waves pound thoughts of you

two shags on a rock
staying close surviving the storms
wet feathers and all

  2. This speaks to me about the comfort in a strong in constant love, despite the battering it may take from capricious outside forces.

  3. I esho Sanaa's praise. Truly gorgeous. I especially love the 2nd and 3rd poems.

I'm always impressed by your mastery of language. Even when using restrictive, short forms, your poems are incredibly dense with meaning. You've given me yet another poetic skill to strive for.

  5. The value of life and relationships certainly escalates as years pass yet all that richness is but memories in the end to accompany loneliness.

  6. I love this mix. The first part made me chuckle--it was delicious to see mythology and lol in the same line. The ending haiku is magnificent, powerful commentary on the nature of healthy relationships.

  8. I enjoyed these very much, especially the second, which I can relate to. The haiku reminds me of home and in the first, I especially liked the lines
    "the greek gods are lol
teasing deities" and so they may be,,
