Heat Stroke



sway pupils butterflies fragile whisper tangency
sultry close veranda mocha sweat eyelashes

it was a close
sweltering sultry night
on the verandah

feeling fragile
she began to sway in the heat
her pupils dilated
her eyelashes dripping with sweat

hallucinating
she heard butterflies whispering to her
in a moment of tangency




mocha ice cream
mountains of it
that's what's needed
to effect a cure

  12. One of the delights in life is to give in to temptation. Don't see too many butterflies in the city but do remember the delight of one settling on my hand whilst sitting in the garden one day. A beautiful poem Rall.
