Poetry Tuesday

OLD - 5 November

age history evolution geology childhood rust nostalgia wisdom
whichever direction you want to take it

to live a life
to survive
is in itself
an achievement

“If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.”
― Mae West

god in his wisdom
decides our expiry date
in spite of our best made plans

it might be an idea
to confront  mortality
sooner rather than later
but who has the time

growing old
is a privilege
each day a bonus

  1. Oh I so agree! Who has the time to deal with mortality! Let the chips fall where they may! Thanks so much for sharing on Poetry Tuesday, Rall.

  2. To think of this aging as achievement is a very positive thought, "dealing with mortality" with gratitude. Love the Mae West quote. I smoked for 42 years. I expect that's what weakened my connective tissues--and yet, I still look forward to seeing what will happen next.
