Existentialism
on est ce qu'on fait
"you are what you do"
the existential mantra
wrote a paper on it
(the mantra is all i remember)
that and being careful to reflect and echo
the prevailing cultural marxist ideology
of the philosophy department
so much for academic freedom
or any freedom
all an illusion
smoke and mirrors
always thought sartre displayed symptoms
of repressed christianity
certainly couldn't say that before
(not if i wanted to gain a distinction grade)
but i can now

ReplyDeleteToeing the line was more important than coming up with new ideas. That was school for me too back in the 1950's. .
