Sunday Muse # 166 / Earthweal # 72

this is not the wolf

that swallowed little red riding hood's grandmother

this is the wolf  that belongs to wildwoman

a lover of nature

who roams the sea shore and forests

in love with the beauty of the natural world

and on a dedicated mission to protect the planet

she pens poetry  in the quiet of  night

and inspires others from all over the world

to join her in her cause

very occasionally she indulges herself

in a tipple of sweet sherry

keeping warm

under her big cosy fur bedspread (synthetic)

a birthday gift from her sister

while wolf boy one eye open

lies by her side

her constant guardian and protector

star dreaming  wolf  dreams

  5. Smiles. If only you could see this exhausted frizzy-haired elder tapping at the keys. But I was wilder in spirit in my younger years and every beat of my heart these days is for the wilderness and the wild creatures - and the very last of the old growth that this province is clearcutting faster than the land defenders can stop them - though they are trying mightily. We are in the midst of an unprecedented heat wave, but governments do not seem to connect the dots as to these two situations - or simply refuse to. Criminal negligence, in my opinion.

  13. Wolf dreams maybe turned to wolf nightmare for some of this Sunday's Muse authors? At least, I think mine must have. LOL ♥
