- Scorching sunshine
- Sudden shower –
- summer flowers
pray for rain signs on
bone dry country properties
scorching in sunshine
much better to stay indoors
in an air con room eating
ice cream watching the tennis
some dark clouds appear
summer showers predicted
respite from the cruel heat
they never last very long
just enough to tease the birds
and encourage mosquitoes
bougainvillea
bougainvillea
summer flowers love sunshine
brilliant pink display
the flowering cactus thrives
yellow wattles dazzle in
down under shimmering heat
wattle

Rall, your photos and verse are beautiful, and entrancing. ❤️
ReplyDeleteenjoy your lovely season. That bougainvillea is truly lovely as are the words you used in the poetry. Wonderful job. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful, Rall! I can't wait to have summer's heat return. :-)

I had never heard of bougainvillea, but even though I'm blind and therefore cannot see your picture, your description is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely poems. They certainly blaze of summer.
