GOOD FRIDAY
The sun is shining The sky is blue yet there is always , regardless of weather ,a feeling of incredible sadness on this day for Christians. Not even all the jolliment at the Easter Show and snaps of people at the fish market on TV can mask it. The tendrils of faith are wrapped tightly around a soul at birth and never really leave. Centuries of ancestors sit heavily on our shoulders on this sad day and for the first time in a very long time I am able to weep. Deo Gratias.
any good in man
comes from the lord who died for
us all on this day
The memory of terrible events and horrible deeds remain terrible and horrible, even if things get better later (even because of it). Very sad, indeed...
ReplyDeleteYes, I think Good Friday is full of deep, heavy sadness and gloom for anyone who knows the story of Jesus. However you look at it, it was a cruel and tragic event – and it's hard to grow up in even a nominally Christian country without knowing that story and feeling that way.
ReplyDeleteYes - All goodness comes from God and his death is our doorway into life- I love those words "us all on this day" - One act in one moment.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect poetic reflection on Good Friday, Rall. Thank You. Sending heartfelt Easter greetings your way.
ReplyDeleteDeath and resurrection, sadness and rejoicing, so much emotion even to this day.
