FRIDAY WRITINGS.....POETS and STORYTELLERS UNITED
no not leprechauns
gorgeous gifted irish lads
dancing up a storm
guess where they all went
straight down to the wide brown land
so thanks st patrick
we're sending them back
they are homesick for ireland
it has been too long
the shamrock is a
good explanation for the
holy trinity
irish tradition remains
alive well and feisty down here
lovely irish gals
yep- up to shenanigans
having a good time
he shuffles about
practising irish dancing
in size 13 shoes
likes a guinness makes good cheer
and kisses the blarney stone
sang this song at school
sad...brings a tear to my eye
a long time ago
more than half a century
has passed- where does the time go

ReplyDeleteLove the dance! And the bits of lore weaved into your poetry. I always like seeing how old traditions survive in the new.
