What's Going On...The Heart Remembers

the heart remembers
your excitement
at your  first visit to a supermarket
wheeling a trolley made you feel
like a rich woman you said

the heart remembers
the little beggar boy who gave me
a plaited leather bracelet as a gift
i still have it

the heart remembers
the joy on your face
eating your first ice cream
at the age of fifty

the heart remembers
being a fairy godmother
to you all
making your lives easier
making you happy

it was a privilege and an honour

  1. How lovely this is, as I imagine you introducing someone new to your part of the world to new delights and experiences. Truly a wonderful gift.

  2. Rall, each one of these stanzas is its own story. I really would like to know more about each of them. Especially right now about someone eating one's first ice cream at 50 years old!

  5. I would love to know more about the story behind this poem, Rall, which took me on a journey too, to try to remember my first visit to a supermarket and my first ice cream. How satisfying to feel like a fairy godmother!

  7. Each one of these mini stories of the heart are beautiful. The fairy godmother was good to them and bless you for that….
