POW POETRY ON WEDNESDAY

I am starting this site because some of you said that you enjoyed the party atmosphere here.
I am offering compact but colorful accommodation, with rich food and decor to match.
If there are too many interested, there will have to be room sharing. However at this or any stage, it is highly unlikely, so be assured of a warm welcome and lots of parties at Ralls.

There will be weekly prompts, competitions, prizes, and lots of surprises because I get bored very easily. Occasionally there will be an article or an interview with an obscure but brilliant writer. Most will come from our unpublished ranks. If you think you might be up for this, drop me a line here in the comments section. I need to get a rough idea of numbers for catering!
Cheers and SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEDNESDAY.
Rall

  1. Count me in, if that's ok.
Two sugars in mine - stirred to the left...

  2. go for it rall. really do launch POW -- the more prompt sites the better. we can do Keith's COT on Tuesday, then we can hang here at your POW on Wednesday's, do Neil's WWP on Thursday, go to Willow's Magpie Tales on Friday's, then surf over to my Writer's Island on Saturday's, then either Sunday Scribblings or Sandy's OSI on Sunday's (or both) -- and there are other sites. but never can there be too many. variety is the spice, we can be writing and poeting fools. I have already set up links to the other prompt sites on Writer's Island -- and I will include a link for POW. We should be an interconnected community of prompt sites! Go for it, and let me know...
    ...rob ;)

  5. Hi Rall,

I'm willing to grab a glass and a nibble. May even manage the odd poem between drinks!

  6. Good to see some of the old team here.
Not a shoes and stockings sort of place
Angie...just let it all hang out..Oh, I might have to rethink that last phrase. Derrick doesn't want to join because I haven't included
a nude aerobics segment in the program...Oh well, you can't please everyone.

  7. I'd love to stop by once in a while...if you promise some of those lamingtons you spoke so lovingly about...and some wine to wash them down!

  8. Assuming that after April is over I don't succumb to involuntary screaming fits when I see the word "prompt" I'll be sure to pop by :)

  9. Believe me Rall, me and nude aerobics would clear the room quicker than you could spit - that or have them all falling about laughing!

  10. A warm bed with a view of old socks will do me fine.
I am used to seeing old socks about the place as my offspring seem to share their's with our dog.
A warm bed with a dog though is not something I would entertain. Not even for a poodle which are attractive canines.
Will there be billabongs (what ever they are) as I quite fancy having a one. I think they may me a lake of some sort so it may not be practical.
Obviously I wouldn’t mind sharing a shower but not with chaps armed with soap.

  12. Cecil Jeeves because of more recruits than I anticipated you will have to share a room and bath with Miss Pommeroy. I hope you do not mind. She comes from a very nice family.Sorry!

  13. Pam your mariachi is already here and I must say that I am not impressed with their behaviour. It has been reported that they have been attempting to break the lock on Miss Pommeroy's bathroom door. Could you please ask them to modify their behaviour?

  14. Thanks for your offer Rob but this is just a small weekly dinner party for my old poet mates and a few new chums from Napowrimo.I like small personal quality encounters.
I'm not of the modern era. The only pixels I know are the ones living at the bottom of my garden

  15. May I come too? Not an old friend (well, older, but...), rather relatively new. I could supply - uh - diversity.

  16. Let us not delude ourselves Wanda...there is a
very visible streak of the nutter in you (most fortunately!) and very suited to this group of
    gypsy poets.

Never was much of a nomad, but I've been both the others

  26. Yes, yes, yes. I'd be interested in participating in this next round under the POW appelation. Interested in trying some new things, not the least of which is spending more time on each poem and not trying to shag things out in 15 minutes or less. Looking forward to Wednesday, and of course reading more of your work. Hugs and respect from Oregon...
