Blistering heat
Scorching abrasive sand
Inferno rocks
Thousands flock to
the beaches
Pissing
in the already
Tepid sea
Hot wind
A handful of
ice blocks
soothes burning skin
Eggs could fry
on head tops
Fried frazzled brains
Hot nights
without a breath of air
Sleep loss
Thank God for Air Con
Except we don't have one

We're having a snow day and are in the middle of a storm so the weather in your poem sounds good to me! (except for that pissing in the ocean part! Gross! Makes me never want to swim again! LOL)
ReplyDeleteSheilagh Lee said:that really conveyed a heatwave. So sorry your weather is so bad.
ReplyDelete'Pissing in the already tepid sea' - snaps for a great line! I hope you have a fan at least..Jae :)

Good.. liked it..
ReplyDeleteMy gloved fingers are envious. You painted an excellent picture...if not a bit disturbing at times.
ReplyDeleteOh to bury my face in iced snow...You lucky northern devils!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in southern California, inland. I remember hot August days and nights like this! Perfectly articulated.
