Something for the weekend? You won't believe this but we've just been to see the tribute band 'The Australian Pink Floyd' in Manchester a few weeks ago.
This old bird could never manage a fine, inticate dance. His webbed feet and plump body would just look silly in a sarong and he'd be on his back in no time, tummy exposed and ripe for a hearty tickle!
A wonderful evocative song - the two distinct quitars playing amid its mournful quality. It reminds me of lost possibilities because of self-imposed restraint and the intrusion of the eyes of the world.
And the poem offering liberation, soaring and dancing out of the bowl.

ReplyDeletesome fishes breathe air?
ReplyDeletefish out of water, how rare
yet the Dodo of fishes
flies and walks as she wishes
it’s just seems so unfair
she does take a lot of care
ReplyDeleteand loves to fly in the air
yet the Dodo of fishes
has a yearning for the delicious
her sweet tooth stops not with a pear
do take care
ReplyDeleteonly a fair share
as Mullin's Seedling
is prone to bruising
and rarely walks in the air
Pears are not apples
ReplyDeletelemon gin slings
too many tipples
have made you unhinged
a little bit loopy
is quite a nice thing
but my sweet little dodo
is out on a binge
Dodo’s a drinking?
ReplyDeleteunheard of me's thinking
to do such a thing
would damage a wing
a shrinking resulting
Care for thy wings
ReplyDeleteYou silly sweet thing
You only have two
losing one will n'ere do
very nice feel to this
ReplyDeletevoices in a treat
