dverse..sunday scribblings...poetry jam
there is something out there
i feel it when i work
he feels it when he works
i feel it in words as they slide
into my eyes down to my heart
...a connection
i see it in the face of China
i see it in the face of my cats
i saw it in my Grandfather's quiet sadness
i see in the treetops from my window
...a presence
i have always known it
...before
before i could even talk
could even express myself
the knowing spirit
took up residence in my head
refusing to leave
Words slide into eyes and into the heart...excellent

ReplyDelete...that mutual connection is something really hard to explain by our mind... but for some reasons the heart understands...smiles... i enjoyed it...
ReplyDeleteA beautiful REFLECTION on connections. I do understand what you are expressing here, the feeling of connection that is sometimes not able to be explained logically!
ReplyDeleteMary I don't think the connection to God or his existence can ever have a scientific logical explanation.

ReplyDeleteWhoever loves
knows God,
because God is love?
Good point.I am inclined to agree with this one.
DeleteThen the real questions begin!
DeleteHas this God of love been revealed to us and can we know God with our minds as well as recognise him in our hearts?
Thanks to everyone for your very generous comments and to Dodo who inspired this poem.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts echo Berowne's comment.
