arthur came to me at three
he was soft cuddly and bigger than me
he's still around somewhere in the attic
sitting quietly year in year out just static
i am going to bring him back into the fold
he can keep me warm on winter nights so cold

there will only be just him and me
under a cosy patterned quilt with puss makes three.

and woof makes four
How sweet... my bear is about the same size,,, and I always have him close...
ReplyDeletehaha...that sound nice and comfortable... a bit of snuggling under the quilt..nice..
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you still have your bear. I DO hope you bring him out of the attic so that he can see the light of day again. There is something about a stuffed animal for warmth on a winter night!
ReplyDeleteA bitter sweet poem, Ralletanda! I got my own teddy bear for my fifth birthday and it still sits in a bedroom. There is indeed something special about a teddy bear.
ReplyDeletemy teddy bear was a black and white panda...ironically named teddy...we found mine a couple years ago in my parents basement and gave it to my son...so mine is still around...
ReplyDeleteSimpler times ... and teddy bears just accept us as we are and wait for us. You must ask his forgiveness for leaving him all alone for so long. Good job they don't hold grudges.
ReplyDeleteWarm and cozy. I'm glad you can still find him.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a bear for true friendhip. Nicely written.
ReplyDeleteBravo on the ending. Sneaky, in a way, both tone and line placement.
ReplyDeleteCute one ~ My daughter sleeps with her fav stuffed toys ~
ReplyDeleteWe should always keep our bears close:)
