Three Word Wednesday / Poetry Jam

twas inevitable
curiosity
got the better of him

could not resist
seeing what those
twittering gals
were up to
perched like doves
on a cramped ledge
absorbed in needlework

he was wary of women
strange creatures
they could unsettled him
with their never ending
resourcefulness and solidarity

grateful for some fresh air
sitting in the light
being out in the open
they form a tableau
of contentment and camaraderie

instead of peering out
from behind lace
straining eyes by kerosene lamps
hunched over in dark houses
soot on their thimbles

  1. Ha, good one. And came here to read the poem about 'The Perfect Gentleman' but got lost amidst all your poetic endeavors. Anyways, keep writing. Hoping to catch up with your poems.

    1. Just keep scrolling wandering through the poems and you will find Imran Ahmad "The Perfect Gentleman" ...an amusing autobiography of Imran trying to fit into British Society.

  14. Lovely... even though I saw the word "grateful" (the challenge was not to use any derivative of thankful or grateful in the poem).
