Haiku For Poetry Month April 2014

Day One



he dreamt of a friend
to share this lovely moment with
he will search for one

Day 2



i knew doris day
before she was a virgin
said david niven


Day 3




doing a favour
helping someone when needed
enjoying it too

Day 4



the little child asked
is their haiku in heaven
yes boomed thor's hammer


Day 5


















dodo's deliv'ring
a small package in nappies
another grandpa



Day 6




sometimes i wonder
why i must struggle so much
some help would be nice

Day 7


modern day mantra
my god is me - what's new
wonderful world eh?

Day 8




sometimes i can see
how it looked before back then
a few bits remain


Day 9


life was very tough
mildred was a good woman
but made bad choices

Day 10



i do like clothelines
there's something reassuring
about them in situ

    what happens when our god
    is us---you get narcisists

    lined up on each side
    lobbing grenades at each other
    i like clotheslines too

    smell of the breeze
    in the clothes

  8. So many of these made me laugh. So true, what's new about "my god is me."
    And...sigh...I really miss clotheslines & the way clothes hung out USED to smell.

  9. I am most fortunate that I am one of those rare people who still has a clothesline in the city and I actually use wooden props in the country.Pleased I gave you a Sunday laugh....18 more to go...will put on another lot next weekend !
