Three Word Wednesday...Haibun

nocturnal fraught honorable

The internet is fraught with danger. You could wake up one day and find your text messages published on FB and on a blog. It happens.
There is no way you can really know a person you have not physically encountered in spite of the length and frequency of the communication, their societal status, profession or age.It would never occur to honorable and decent people that anyone they associated with would behave like this. The feeling of devastation is comparable to leaving your personal details and possessions with a trusted friend and you discover when you return from your holidays that everything has gone. It is as devastating as that I imagine.I don't know how often this happens. On the net you just never know until it happens to you.And of course you think it can never happen to you because caring Grandpas are safe and can be trusted. Am I having nocturnal tremors? NO. Am I sickened by my poor judgement YES !

watch out for strangers
you never  know who they are
or what they can do

  1. I take your warning seriously, but I wonder how many others do. (Not enough, I'm afraid.)

  2. Well my conscience is clear. I spoke up and my part ends there. It is up to others what they ultimately do. Statistically speaking I have no idea how often this occurs or not. I don't know.

  4. Yes - it opens the world in the wrong ways at time...for every bad experience I have found most of my internet experience good..as you say it's often up to us to lay down the boundaries...it never seems right that 'we' should say our judgment is off...arseholes are arseholes...hope you are ok!

  5. If you don't know them personally then don't be friends with them. Once there was Stamp Collecting now there is Facebook, most of what you collect are not worth much.

  6. The worst offenders are related to the victims. Why? Because trust is extended very easily! Timely caution Rallentanda!

Jack hopes all is well in Rallentanda land and if you need support he is there ready with his sword and shield just as you have come to his aid.

From what Jack knows, although he has never met you but has 3 years of internet experience of you, he thinks you a fine, decent and honourable person and with a good sense of judgement.

Trust your instincts. If you do make mistakes, and we all do, move on. As someone one said, "brush the dust from your feet". Or, as Jack would put it, f*ck 'em.
