sir cedric and his kitty cat
decided to move into a flat
twas very small contained indeed
the castle much bigger for his needs
kitty cat became so strange
lost his bearings very vague
sir cedric walked around and round
searching for specs upon the ground
kitty cat became a mad sad shadow
a wide eyed pushkin stalking sparrows
sometimes nitetime when all was dark
they would walk together in the park
look at the moon and say their prayers
to find ced's specs and shoes in pairs
which may be hidden in tweetie's cage
nemo's fish tank or a pot of sage
they never did find their long lost things
so in the end they just played on swings
settled down did housework in twos
without ced's specs or pairs of shoes
Down-sizing is so hard to do; deciding what to keep and what to dispose of is impossible, so you end up squashing everything into a smaller space. Result? You can't find anything.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed this on a dreary Satruday morning in Scotland
Thank you Tony. It has been a beautiful Spring day here in Sydney. Glad you enjoyed this one.
ReplyDeletewe lived in the same house for 27 years and then moved. It always seems like a size 10 rental truck pulls up to your size 8 new house.
ReplyDeleteNice story never has a definite end so there is room for more stories. Moving always was the most anxious times. It seems never ending like your story. UP and DOWN around here.
ReplyDeletesometimes after a move we may not find what we need but other things instead... i like that they walk together in the park and look to the moon
ReplyDeleteThis is so entertaining! Loved it.
ReplyDeleteOh good...! It wasn't really a how to move house poem.
Delete*chuckle*
ReplyDeleteHappy Jack likes this old chap and his cat. He can imagine visiting them for afternoon tea and having lots of chuckles.
