murdering french cartoonists and jewish shoppers
is not a nice present for Jesus
especially around the time of his birthday
and did those feet in ancient times
walk upon England's mountains green?
unlikely and certainly not today
or anywhere else on earth
with the possible exception of
lord howe island
no violence no crime few people
and ecologically sound
the messiah might consider this place
for the second coming
he will need to be quick
man made global warming will sink it soonish
rather than laterish

ReplyDeleteAll the time that politicians and governments are in bed with big business we will witness the destruction of our world as they refuse to wear spectacles for their myopia...and disaster probably won't happen in their term of office.

Well, my favorite part was the made up words - "soonish" and "laterish" because that is one of my favorite things to do when I'm talking and writing. Just ask my husband.

ReplyDeleteIslands do sink over time sadly. It is really sad because a lot of people lose their homes because of it. I think a good birthday wish would be a hope that those people would find a great new home. This is a wonderful piece Rall.
