AUSTRALIA DAY JANUARY 26

the first australians
they play didgeridoo
they understand dream time

nomads dispossessed
their land gone
their culture erased

the sailing ship
landing at camp cove changed
their lives forever

26th January 1788 Camp Cove Sydney

  1. Well over two hundred years we have been here and have learned so little from this country's first inhabitants. The music was haunting as usual and for some reason when I hear the didgeridoo I still feel some hope for this land.

  2. The music epitomises what the real Australia is....outside of the cities.

  3. So sad...a culture lost and we all lose so much a long with it.

  5. The identity, the culture, the uniqueness lost in the need to 'modernize'... it is sad...
