Party Poopers

midweek motif PU
3WW... dead threat hungry

father christmas
did not have children of his own

his affair with the gin bottle  precluded
him from finding a wife

he liked reading letters hanging out with reindeers
climbing down chimneys and delivering presents

puss always hungry for food and attention
was devoted to him along with rudolph
the red nose reindeer his best drinking buddy

the only threat to father christmas was from saudi arabia
where he could wind up dead if he continued
to drop off presents there

some of his friends having a Christmas party  had already been imprisoned
for committing the crime of "plotting to celebrate Christmas "in 2012

  1. Wow! This is now my favorite of your poems. I wish there was a better option for him than drinking, though. What a gift that would be if Father Christmas could give us peace and tolerance!

  9. A lovely message of tolerance set with humour...nicely done...yes, we Canadians usually say Happy Holidays; I wonder if that is why I learned that expression as a young child Joyeuses Fêtes.

  10. Ho-ho-ho but so so so enlightening. I was well aware that gin was a mother's ruin but totally oblivious to its resulting absence of Mother Christmas, by juniper. How sad.

  11. The Canada quip made me chuckle too..a fine use of Father Christmas to illustrate all that's wrong with the world..no wonder we need to hit fairy dust and rely on the spiders to block out the truth! (well...that's a new excuse at least!) ;)

  14. A fun write that suddenly gets serous. I didn't know that! It really is a tyranny there, isn't it? (I guess it shows us there is more than one way of looking at things....)
