For The Weekend

still swimming
in glorious
autumn sunshine
to handel harp tinkles

in a pool
with small lizards
dragon flies
covered in
pink peppercorns
and leaves
in the heat
of the  midday sun

i think of you
your writing scrawled
over this decades old tape
das klangermusik

i think of you
the shrieks of laughter
lifting the beast
on to a mattress
in the back of a station wagon
tootling off to a concert
to play this

i think of sir o e
your professor
his elegant crossed legs
a small pipe dangling
seductively from the side
of his mouth
and you
you wicked minx
torturing that poor man
with your insanely overpowering beauty

they were wonderful days

her shadow
tinkling on the harp
her beauty
inspiring
she gave it all up to be
a dutiful wife

  2. There's a big blank in between your title and the first line of the poem...I guess there might be a video. My net is so slow that I couldn't enjoy it if it's there. Brrrr...love the poem specially the last stanza, so heartfelt....this is my second attempt at commenting, hope it publishes...

  3. Am in the outback at the moment. Definitely rubbing two sticks and tom tom drum territory...very poor reception here too.

  4. That seems a lot to give up for marriage. What did he give up to be married? Loved the music and your writing but still felt sad at the end.

  6. Pink peppercorns..we will savour those..it is a risk...going from the back of the car to the front seat..but then risk brings forth sunshine and harps..even for a small moment

  14. That's so sad. It seems true love does not demand anyone give up anythin.
