Sunday's Whirligig 54

breathing against kinds impossible coffee unfold
comes sleeping white probability skull bricks

the screeching of white cockatoos
penetrate the skull at the unfolding
of another pink sunrise
making sleeping  impossible

a ton of bricks lies on my chest
making breathing difficult
as i swim against the current
of prevailing thoughts

all these kinds of situations
come with consequences

there is as much probability
of coming to a solution as
you bringing me a cup of coffee
in bed in the morning

  1. The cockies are in full voice over here at the moment. Well I have to get the coffee too; I would feel embarrassed if I was brought one as I live alone!

  3. That penetrates the skull for sure! that moment of realising you have to wake up is a bugger...as regards the cockatoos - bird feeders full of diazepam? (not my first thought but don't want to advocate violence on a Sunday morning!)

  5. If only the cockatoo's had a pleasant voice. I have a special spot for the ravens too. Magpies have a better voice and hence a better press. It is always that way. But, beyond that, I agree: thoughts, especially at 4am for some reason, play with the mind mercilessly. Bricks indeed.

  6. Awww! That's all a bit much, eh?

(I was brought my morning coffee for 47 years, over two marriages – and very nice too – so cannot complain about getting my own now.)

  9. How I loved hearing the cockatoos! I love the probability of coming to a conclusion as certain as being served a cup of coffee........

  10. The current of prevailing thoughts can be strong....but coffee brought to us is always a treat. A lovely write Rall!

  11. I can see how both the cockatoos and the prevailing thoughts would impede sleep and normal breathing!!

  12. Oh, I had no idea cockatoos could be annoying. I love animals but confess I'm not a morning person. And no one brings me coffee either.
