Anyone for Cricket

 3WW
carefree deadpan earsplitting
sunday scribblings 2
among

those were carefree days
and a lot of fun
even so
she remembered that
earsplitting rejection
but still managed to maintain
a stiff upper lip
and dead pan face

it was the first time
she understood what they meant
when they talked among themselves
about
batting for the other side

  1. A harsh reality for some women particularly in that era and one of the best reasons i.m.o. for making it illegal to discriminate against gays so they are no longer forced into marriages with women to meet social expectations and acceptance.

    1. True enough. That would be hell for both sides, I would imagine.

    2. It is the women with no knowledge that their husbands are gay who have my sympathy. They have been tricked and used.If the women wanting a husband and children had known the situation in the first place these guy would never have even be considered as prospective partners. There lies the tragedy in this gross deception.Hopefully this has now come to an end, at least in the west.

  2. Scientifically I suppose natural selection will sway this way even more as the total population grows even larger. Mind you we have being trying to assist this process by a continual appetite for war.

    1. A war doth not a homosexual make. Your thinking is a bit scrambled egg!

    2. I think Robin means that both things are contributing to the population reduction the world so badly needs – not that wars are contributing to homosexuality!

  3. Is there an escape about arranged / forced marriages? Regrets may come after. That gif says a lot.

  4. Neat! Loved the way you've spun this out of those three words.

  5. Oh my, you have woven the harsh realities so very subtly and beautifully, Rall.

    Lots of love,

  7. ..I never think of you as an odd spinster on the self. You have very nice eyebrows so I am sure you could land a catch if you wanted to LOL.Hard to find a good one though isn't it!

  9. Ah, the moment of discovery... that understanding that explains all those little smiles that she didn't quite understand, but suspected were not meant for her. At least, know she knows. May the all be happy... and dance.
