Midweek Motif - Poets United
when voltaire's great revolutionary concept
'i may not agree with you but i will defend
your right to express it'
is denied
we no longer have freedom of speech
when the owners of the media
select what we see and do not see
according to their political bias
we are not free
when differing opinions are labelled as unacceptable
and ultimately shut down
we are in chains
when one must be fearful of the consequence
of holding opinions differing from the popular prevailing views
we live in a totalitarian state
we are not free
we are disempowered
we have simply exchanged
one set of dangerous labels for another
