into a mirror for years
terrified of what
she might see
the other day
she approached a complete stranger
at the check out
excuse me...am i beautiful?
.no.... he said
Well, dang! She had to bump into the one truthful man in the city!!
A very George response...LOL
I think the stranger needs a good swift kick in the pants. I love that second image of art Rall. Always glad to see you at the Muse!
Dang! Nothing like a dose of truth at the checkout counter. That will be $49.95. Paper or plastic?
Ha...this poem was inspired by George Costanza!
Self loathing is always a terrible thing. It makes for good poetry, though.
It hurts so much to have self-doubt. It hurts so much to be vulnerable when some callous oaf doesn't take an opportunity to make a stranger's day beautiful.
Ha, brave to ask the question. But hope she disregarded the answer.
George Costanza is a character in Seinfeld whose insensitivity and lack of empathy is truly hilarious (well to my min anyway:)
This gives me a chill--that obsession & the randomness of the reply is like hearing a match strike and waiting...
But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and George was always very blunt ...
That was brutal!
Ouch! Well she asked
Well now, that was fierceHappy SundayMuch💜love
Brutally honest!
This is funny. What a curmudgeon!
