revealing their hidden secrets

in  texas


 

rivers of tears and blood

spilled by the suffering ukrainians

rivers of despair

the river styx

always present

no point in trying to hide

from the ferryman

 

 rushing rivers rise

rivers overflowing

drowning  destroying

everything in its wake 

floods everywhere 

 

 

 when all fails

retreat to the world

of winnie the pooh

a gentler time of childhood



sadly we know

this will never be enough

for most of us

there can never be enough

for most of us

hence

our disastrous calamitous world

  1. Yes, we instinctively turn to gentler times and thoughts, in order to withstand all that is happening. Ha, imagine banning Winnie the Pooh, what a strange world we live in.

  7. When the grown-up world seems overwhelming, some find it helpful to turn off the news broadcasts. Or analyze them. Anguish sells, so as noted in dsnake's poem, news shows tend to be edited for minutes of anguish, minutes of "sports action" or weather (though weather can be played for additional anguish), and a minute or two of local niceness. Reality does not necessarily conform to the proportions the market analysts dictate for TV.
