SHADORMAS
FOR MY CHINA
he could walk
before the damn stroke
he could drive
he could speak
now he is a sad shadow
of his former self
i watch him
wither on the vine
day by day
heartbreaking
must keep strong to care for this
precious dear person
what matters is
he is still with me
that's what counts
he's still here
please God help him recover
your prayers are welcome

Aww, it is so sad to watch a loved one struggle with illness. I love that you write the main thing is he is still here. So true.
ReplyDeleteYour poem shows how hard it is to care for someone who has had a health crisis, but good that he is still there with you and that there IS hope for recovery.

precious dear person" Your love comes through for both what was and what is. Bless you!
This hits home for me. For over a year now I have watched my husband walk his journey through cancer, see how weak he's become, how hard he is working to regain strength.
ReplyDeleteI am unable to leave a comment on your blog...so I left one on your superb poem on the What's Going On Comment site. Take care and courage dear Susie. You have been through a lot !

ReplyDeleteYour words are full of prayer and strength, Rall. May they smile again and make all smile. My prayers. May he be well soon.
