compromise
difficult
conundrum
you're damned if you do
you're damned if you don't
la balance
weighing everything up
with meticulous precision
to make the right
decision
to find
the best way forward
defeated
i don't know
have never known
will ever know
anything
ha yes...not always easy to make the right decisions...la balance...the weighing and re-thinking to hopefully make steps in the right direction..felt..
ReplyDeleteIs there is a name for the middle of the scales..would that be the place of not knowing..where we can step back and figure things out..i wonder if anyone's scales are truly balanced or if we're all a bit tipsy..jae
ReplyDeleteSo true. And the stars constantly remind us of it!
ReplyDeleteTo finally realise that you know nothing is a wisdom in itself.
ReplyDeleteAww...such a sad poem but, logically, if you think you've never know anything then, you have known something.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, concise, poetry.
Waiting for foolproof direction before making a decision is the best way to drive yourself batty. We're all more or less acting on ignorance. Great words, I enjoyed reading them!
ReplyDeleteI too have heard these not all together as you have put them so well but I choose to discard them and think positively:)
ReplyDeletei thnk ultimately that decision is important because we cant stay stuck int eh same place forever you know...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good reminder that not making a decision is making a decision to let someone or something else decide for us. We can never know all the answers. Sometimes we just have to move forward. It isn't always easy.
ReplyDeleteI have certainly felt this way before. Your terse lines convey the claustrophobia well.
ReplyDeleteThank you to everyone for your generous comments.
ReplyDeletedecision have always weighed heavily on me. sometimes I too wonder if I really know anything, while sometimes I wonder if maybe I know too much. nice piece.
ReplyDeleteCompromise is the least worst option except that nobody is satisfied with it! The only other alternative is to accept you are wrong or mistaken but what a relief when you find that even that is not the end of the world.
ReplyDeleteAh if only it were that simple oldegg!
ReplyDeletermp ' maybe I know too much '
Ha....very good point. You can know too much even though you don't know everything:)
You sound depressingly normal. Another image shattered.
ReplyDeleteHa..you are the only person in blogosphere who thinks this. And,I am truly delighted that my normal ticket has been issued by someone like you dear Cosmo:)x
ReplyDeleteA pleasure, my dear, a real pleasure.
ReplyDeleteThen again, you keep in mind what passes for normal around here. :-/
