Sugar Power Puffs WIn

one needs
to stretch
endurance
in the cause
of survival
kill or be killed
is implicit
in understanding
the jungle of life

genghis
was good at it
ivan
was good at it
sweet thing
butter wouldn't
melt in her mouth
is better
than both of them

the rest
of the poor sods

tarantella
their way
expertly ducking
and weaving
through jackboots
with the occasional
kick to the head

  1. I usually duck when I should weave. Sweet thing sounds a force to be reckoned with.

  2. The sugar puff power of sweet things is contained in the DNA... something that can never be learnt.
    They always win .

The downside is they never ever have a sense of humour. It forever eludes them and because it is one of the few things that is denied to them ,it drives them to distraction to see it in any one else.

If you are ducking when you should be weaving I hate to think what condition your head must be in. Perhaps there is a correlation between the writing of superior verse and kicked heads:)

  3. this is rather chilling...all the more so in reading your comment above.....a jackboot to the head would def be painful...

  4. Brian! This is metaphorical of course. Cosmo exaggerates... He is really a top act in the ducking and weaving dept.We all get a kick in the head fron time to time...the pain depends on your ducking and weaving strategies. Life is a battle ground covered in land mines except for sugar power puffs. They magically sail through everything.

  6. Ah.... they (the sugar power puffs) are the ones who if they fell into a pile of S**T they'd come up smelling of roses... right? lol
I see your point, she is the cleverest of them all because, 'though they (Genghis and Ivan) won by brute force, she wins by seductive cunning and stealth. Clever :)

  8. Rallentanda like Tarantella has a bite to make us dance I see. I must watch out for that kick to the head.

  9. Daydreamer and Jaerose
You gals are no stranger to the type. Watching a sweet thing at work is a study in duplicity and manipulation. The most embarrassing thing is watching men who are normally intelligent beings duped by the fluttering of eyelashes and a baby doll demeanour.

  12. I love your desert haiku. Enjoy your films x I would suggest The Tailor of Gloucester by Beatrix Potter especially if you are watching with young people!! The film Miss Potter about her life is also brilliant.
