ReplyDeleteI GET this! It IS hard to be 'just friends' with someone for whom you have DEEPER feelings. Too painful. Better (oftentimes) to just say good-bye.

ReplyDeleteWow. I am old , now, so I always wonder, especially during movies where people dont say how they feel, why they dont just say it? I suppose then the movies would be much shorter! Smiles. Interesting take on Goodbye.

ReplyDeleteYour first two lines are the puzzle. Clearly dumping him is going to hurt your character as well rather as well as giving her freedom. They must have been going out for ages to be stuck in her ways. (p.s I couldn't believe I was dumped when I was 18!)
ReplyDeleteYou yourself said to me not so long ago not to take these verses as strictly autobigraphical...take it easy oldegg...these lines fitting in with the given words just pop out of the blue and write themselves. Dumping and being ditched is all too awful..that is why we find a mate and nest hopefully for a long time so one can get on with living:)
