Three Word Wednesday

javert was not too clever
loveless and godless
his obsession with destruction
of  perceived enemies was his downfall

at the finish all his silky words
plethora of medals and achievements
were not enough to prevent his fate
ending up as a floating top hat in the seine
swimming with the fishes

  1. I must admit I struggled to fathom the strength and persistence of his obsession. Nicely captured.

  3. Brilliant! Enjoyed this summary of a character and his self made demise in just two verses.

  4. In a few words you've developed a vivid character even without the picture.

  5. I can't help but have a soft spot for Javert after seeing Russell Crow's version!

    1. I have not seen that version. I don't believe anyone can top the French version with John Malkovich as Javert and Gerard Depardieu as Valjean. I don't think Russell Crow is much of an actor or even attractive!

  6. While I loved the poem I am worried about your workplace. I never thought there was a psychopath amongst my colleagues odd though they were, mind you I never looked in the mirror.

  9. Tragically, Javert's one act of compassion could have rescued his humanity from the system he served. However, the system allowed for no forgiveness so, instead, his kindness crushed him and killed him.
