Poets United Midweek Motif ...Three Word Wednesday

" Not all those who wander are lost "Tolkien

tis in man's nature to search
he is overburdened
with questions

what is over that hill
what is across the sea
how does that moody moon
control the listless tides

what makes a man
risk his life for another
what makes a man
enjoy torturing another

are we divided
into angels
and horrible monsters
or are we mostly apathetic

some go searching
wander through philosophy
religions pyschology cultures
for answers
they wander through the maze
all of their lives

inevitably
they find the answers
too late

le vraie est trop simple
il faut y arriver toujours
par le complique...

lost?
not the wanderers
they follow the star

surface dwellers
marking time
storing up treasures
on earth

they are the lost ones

  1. Wow! I love how you incorporated the quotes and contrasts, making teh solid grounders the lost ones. I couldn't live without the questions.

  2. In other words "we don't believe even if the facts stare us in the face". I have always thought wandering is good especially if life has no purpose. People will think we are searching for it.

  3. ..I think if life holds no purpose one must search for it by wandering the maze in search of meaning. Most smug people, convinced of life's purpose, rarely acknowledge the need of a cerebral meander.

  5. I think a lot of time is wasted to apathy..even though it's hard i think a life spent following stars is more satisfying than one that never delves below the surface..

  7. I love your explanation of it but I believe that some choose to wander it's in their blood others have soil in their blood,

  8. Excellent point made here. Everything hoarded will someday either go to someone else or the landfill.

  10. What could be better than wandering around in life's simple yet complex truths as we go about our daily lives?

Ummmm ... perhaps retiring and having more time to do so. Bike rides, walks by the sea shore, lying on a hillside, sunbathing in a park ..... driving a sweet little motor.
