Poetry Jam

to be poor and old in australia
is not a place to be
with our latest christian leader
who would prefer the aged lived overseas
they are taking up space and resources
are past there use by date
tony abbot would rather they exit now
and take up residence in space

john and yoko
have a lot to answer for

some oldies
never got over the 60s

the grandchildren
just don't understand this
as a graduation gift

  1. I was married just after John and Yoko in Gibraltar (purely by coincidence). The Registrar said "She was just like a little Rat".

Don't tell anyone I told you that!

  8. I know...people wanting food and shelter are just so unreasonable. I mean if they had any stamina or wherewithall they could become corporate criminals or politicians and live in luxury.

  9. There is some incredible fantasy thinking going on with many leaders, usually involving shipping whatever ills society has can be shipped somewhere else. Yikes! Great write here, and John and Yoko...what a flashback :-)

  10. Politicians are so disingenuous and seem to exclude themselves and their families from the tough policies they enact for the rest of the populace. "All animals are equal but some are more equal than others..."
    Great pieces, Rall
