bed is too cosy
hard to get out in winter
warm dreams in duvets

the russians say that
friendships are a dark forest
they know of these things

the heart of the home
funky and unpretentious
artist's bold kitchen

lights glimmer through trees
last summer at red leaf pool
some nice memories

swimming pool comes first
question of priorities
you don't need a house
Double Decker Bus

A beautiful pairing… I know those days are coming all too soon here.
ReplyDeleteSuch fine visuals. If this is your world, what a world.
ReplyDeleteI read this and thought, must be an Australian, then saw your URL and had it confirmed :) Nice one. I did think kiwi for a second but then realised a kiwi would never prioritise a pool over a warm house! Nice write :)
ReplyDeleteDon't make it appear too good here or we will have even more immigrants!
ReplyDeleteOdd statement coming from a UK immigrant !
DeleteAs a ten pound pom you wanted me to come as you needed me!
DeleteOh that's right in those days we did not send them back like we do now.
DeleteWell of course the present government might change their minds and send you back now that we don't need you anymore. If they do you can count on me to send you food parcels of lamingtons and vegemite for Christmas. Although in England now Christmas is politically incorrect so it might have to be for Ramadan.
Old/egg... well proven :-)
Deletelike this and the bed is always cosy
ReplyDeleteAh, that kitchen does look like it would foster creativity. The table looks like one from my childhood...but with a silver top rather than a red one!
ReplyDeleteI choose cozy bed over winter ~ Of course, a swimming pool is cooler than house ~
ReplyDeleteI really like how you've placed warmth ensconced in dream (in duvets), in friendship,in the feeling called home , in memories of summer and in the joyful moments in a pool..a lovely write...
ReplyDeleteI take it you must be able to use the pool a lot. Here you would never prioritize the pool over the warm comfort of a house you know.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your haikus and loved your images that came with them. the kitchen looks pretty
ReplyDeleteI like it. Very amusing to me.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your colorful kitchen! Also the lights winking through the trees.......enjoyed this poem very much, especially the stanza about the russians and friendship's "dark forest". Awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy visit here is always a multi faceted enjoyable experience.
ReplyDeleteRecuerda Mi Corazon...
Aunque algunos tienen que recordar su herencia :-)
ZQ
beautiful pictures... i doubt russians know of friendship if theyd compare it to a cold dark forest though!! :)
ReplyDeleteRussians are the same as everyone else except more so!
Deleteyou have swept me away in every sense of the word!
ReplyDeletethank you for gracing recuerda mi corazon with your seductive haiku.
Better to have a cozy bed that you can't drag yourself out of than no bed at all, wouldn't you say?
ReplyDeleteHow enjoyable to see/read! I'd hate to give up bedroom and kitchen no matter how I agree about the pool.
ReplyDeleteI get that . . . you can always live in an abandoned double-decker so long as you have a place to hang out and drink beer.
ReplyDeleteOh and skinny dip . . . .
