Toads In The Garden

Grapeling's Words for Imaginary Gardens With Real Toads
fresh burst defy  exchange customary

the fresh sun burst  of a juicy orange
defies comparison as
a customary breakfast experience

combined with an exchange
of sleepy glances over coffee
it's a nice start to the day

  3. I meant to write:
    Pithy and pipless.
My keyboard has a will of its own. Pity it can be pretty mindless at times.

  7. I agree, nice start of the day ~ I prefer though eating fruits later as it upsets my stomach, smiles ~

  8. when we lived in florida we had an orange tree in the back yard...
used to go out there with my son and would eat until we nearly made ourselves sick...ha...they were so good though

  9. I get the image right down to the sparkle and spritz of first contact. I refer my citrus closer to lunch, but the image is compelling.

  10. Very standard morning expressed so differently with a poem. Well done.

  11. In winter (now) we have our best juicy local oranges. In summer not so good. We have imported Florida oranges which taste as if they have been in cold storage for many decades possibly since the invention of refrigeration:)

  16. The picture and your poem make me yearn for oranges. I eat them at any time, though they're wonderful for breakfast.
